CCNA certification indicates that an individual possesses the skills and knowledge to install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including, but not limited to, use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.

This course teaches students how to design and implement networks in small- to medium-sized environments. The course focuses on network terminology and protocols, local-area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, cabling, cabling tools, routers, router programming, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, and network standards. This course is the first of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification.

This course focuses on initial router configuration, Cisco IOS Software management, routing protocol configuration, TCP/IP, and access control lists (ACLs). Students will develop skills on how to configure a router, manage Cisco IOS Software, configure routing protocols, and create access lists to control traffic permitted through the router. This course is the second of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification.
