This program covers basic bookkeeping, computerized accounting, and beginning accounting theory. It prepares students for entry-level positions in billing, accounts payable or receivable, or bookkeeping. Upon completing this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the Accounting - Associate of Applied Science degree program.

This program is designed to provide specific preparation for private and public accounting as well as the advanced areas of general accounting. Graduates are prepared for positions in private business, public accounting, and government. The program provides an excellent foundation for the student to begin a career in cost accounting, tax accounting, or internal auditing.

This course prepares executives to participate in strategic decision making, which is based in part on contemporary accounting techniques. Topics include cost behavior, cost-volume profit analysis, costing approaches, uses of standards and analysis of accounting and financial information.

The objective of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (BSA) is to provide students with a broad, fundamental knowledge of accounting. In addition, students will gain an understanding of the dynamics of organizations, the business environment and the economy. Knowledge gained from this program will serve as a foundation for careers in public accountancy, industry, government and non-profit organizations.
