Learn the basic motorcycle skills necessary to safely
enjoy this sport. The Texas Department of Public Safety
approved this 16-hour course, which includes classroom
instruction and training on the motorcycle. Motorcycles
and helmets are furnished without additional charge.
Successful completion qualifies the student to take the
Motorcycle Operator’s License Examination and may

Introduction to tune-up procedures for motorcycle.
Emphasis on the appropriate procedures and
equipment.

Students will learn how to properly service, repair, and
maintain motorcycles. Course will concentrate on the
engine service and maintaining safety equipment, such
as brakes and lights. The study of other components
will include shocks, tires, wheels, drive chains, cables,
clutches, valve adjustments, timing chain service, fuel
systems service, and ignition system testing. Emphasis will
be placed on individual projects.
