This course is designed to introduce the basic concepts
of electricity to automotive technicians, then to build on
those concepts and apply them to actual automotive
circuits. The technician will learn how electrical
components work and how to read schematic diagrams.
Emphasis is placed on the use of Ohm’s Law in series and
series parallel circuits.

Covers the theory, operation, troubleshooting, service,
and repair of automotive engines and subsystems. Also
covers safety, diagnostic, troubleshooting, engine parts,
functions, systems operation, and perform service or
repair as required.

Program length: 15 months daytime; 21 months evenings (For 9 month program, students must have completed previous automotive training.)
This course is approximately 50 percent classroom training and 50 percent hands-on training.
