specialists are entry level for network administrators. Students with this certificate will be provided the
opportunity to learn the skills needed to test for the Linux + and Security + industry certifications. This
certificate also may lead to CCA AAS degrees in CIS �IT Tech and Support emphasis, CIS �Networking
emphasis and CIS �Computer Information Systems.

In this course, you will learn a number of skills related to LINUX operating system, which special emphasis on managing and setting up the environment. The title Linux System Administration-1 teaches the learner to install applications and manage users and groups. The user can also learn how to configure a printer and manage print-related jobs. This course covers Red Hat 6.1. *This course is not yet compatible with Netscape 6.0 or Macintosh Computers.

Target Student: Students who expect to become the primary system administrator for one or more hosts, but currently may have only junior system administration privileges and responsibilities.

Prerequisites: Students should have 6-12 months experience with Linux. Familiarity with the Linux or Unix command line is required.
