With the ever increasing demand for professional truck drivers, student job placement from the Lake Superior College program is excellent. Training will consist of tractor-trailer basic and advanced operation techniques, safety, log books, air brakes adjustment certification and weight distribution. This is refresher training for students that already have a class A license but either have not used it within a year OR they have less than 1 year of documented driving experience. This program DOES NOT include a road test or permit fees because the student is required to already have a Class A license. The student MUST have a DOT physical and a drug screening to be permitted into a SAGE truck.

The CDL-A Truck Driver Training program is designed to prepare students for the Indiana CDL examination. Ivy Tech is partnered with SAGE
Technical Schools to provide CDL training based on the renowned curriculum of the Professional Truck Drivers Institute (PTDI).This curriculum will act as the basis for national standards and rules for truck driver training schools. Driving time includes 46 hours of over-the-road and range instruction, utilizing a one-on-one delivery.
