This course is designed for nurses whose license has lapsed and wish to renew their registration in the state of Minnesota. This is an independent study course for reviewing current nursing procedures, skills, diagnostic tests, medications and documentation. Upon successful completion of the independent course material, a clinical experience in an acute or long-term care setting is required. The scope of practice for LPNs and RNs will be clearly defined.

The MSN curriculum provides students with the knowledge and experience to assume leadership positions in overall health care delivery and fulfill the fundamental requirements to teach in basic nursing programs, engage in nursing practice as clinical specialists, and secure middle- and top-level administrative positions in health care agencies.

Intended for RNs with a diploma or an associate degree in nursing who want to obtain their BSN degree. Students must take 39 additional upper division nursing credits and meet current NMSU Undergraduate Catalog Requirements as well as specific general education common core requirements.
