The Water Environment Technology Program
(WET) College Certificate Program offers the
intellectual exposure and on-the-job experience,
required to operate and manage a wide range
of water-treatment technologies. The program
recognizes that the efficient application of watertreatment
technologies is essential for the survival
of earth’s population and ecosystems, and that the
technologist is largely responsible for the day-today
compliance with treatment requirements.

Introduction to the proper selection of materials for the installation and repair of sewer, soil, waste, and vent
systems. Proper procedures for the design and layout of residential and commercial systems are also
covered. The use of blueprints and isometric diagrams is reviewed throughout the course.

This course introduces the student to the study of basic fluid mechanics which includes the geology of streams, watersheds, flood plains, backwaters and drainage and their influence on design of drainage systems.

The Civil Technology program is geared to train civil engineering technicians for the construction industry. Civil Engineering technicians work in support of civil engineers and architects who supervise the hard hats engaged in this area of employment.
