Explores the process of communication between individuals in relatively informal, face-to-face situations
that occur in family, social, and work groups.

One-to-one communication combined with experiences in verbal and non-verbal interaction. Message preparation, theories of interaction, the role of body language, and other non-verbal communication in effective speech.

The Speech Communication Arts program prepares students either to transfer to a four-year institution or to assume entry-level positions in communication and related fields. Students complete Arts and Sciences requirements and eight Career Preparation and Related Courses. They then select one of four tracks to specialize in: Intercultural/Interpersonal, Mass Media, Presentation, or Public Relations

In this course, students will learn how to develop effective communications skills that build positive interactions with others.
