This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge to make appropriate diagnostic conclusions regarding various PC system and software problems. The student will employ a logical problem solving technique to isolate problems; use software tools, hardware tools and standard procedures to verify the diagnosis; and employ sound repair techniques to eliminate the problem. Data protection and recover will be an essential part of this course.

This course demonstrates how to use HP Vision Field Diagnostics to diagnose common Desktop/Workstation System problems. If there’s a problem found, HP Vision Field Diagnostics generates possible solutions and a warranty ID code which can used by HP to help determine cause and solution.
Topics include the features, tests, and a simulation of HP Vision Field Diagnostics. Detailed simulations of commonly run tests are also included.

When you complete this lesson, you will able to explain the difference between an overload and a short circuit fault. In addition, you will be able to select the proper over-current and short circuit protection devices for motor branch circuits.
