The course will give the students a basic understanding of Quality Assurance. Students will be able to identify the basic tools used in measurements and will gain skills using these tools to measure objects used is the trainer. Students will gain knowledge about Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and Statistical Process Control.

In this introductory course, participants will become familiar with measurement data, adjustments based on measurement data, benefits derived from quality or accurate measurement data versus inaccurate measurement data; and guidelines for assessing the quality of a measurement system.

The class is sponsored in conjunction with the local ASQ section in preparation for the ASQ Certified Quality Inspector exam. The course identifies exam preparation techniques and how to analyze a question and construct the correct response. The class covers the CQI body of knowledge as identified by ASQ; quality philosophies, leadership, quality systems, auditing, reliability, problem solving, and quality improvement tools and techniques.

Advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) builds on Introductory Statistical Process Control with techniques to ensure economic production of goods based on defect prevention rather than defect detection. With a focus on how data is collected and interpreted using the Infinity software, participants will start to become familiar with how Infinity collects and stores data for SPC.
