Industrial AC Systems, 10 weeks/11 Quarter Credit Hours. Students will study various three-phase motor installations, electro-mechanical motor controls and control systems wiring used in modern industrial plants and machinery. Mechanical input control devices and industrial voltage transformer connections and systems are also studied.

This seminar will discuss the basic characteristics of an AC Induction Motor and the fundamentals of using Field Oriented Control (FOC) of this type of motor.

When you complete this lesson, you will be able to describe and demonstrate how the superposition, Thevenin’s, and Norton’s theorems can be used to simplify computations for complex AC circuits.
