The Sun Certified Programmer is appropriate for programmers who would like to show proficiency in the fundamentals of the Java programming language using the Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE).

The Getting Started with Java Persistence API course provides students new to Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) 3.0 and the Java Persistence API (JPA) with a step-by-step guide for creating an application with these technologies. Using JPA and NetBeans, students build an enterprise application that performs all the standard database operations: create, retrieve, update, and delete (CRUD). In addition, students will refactor their code.

This course will enable the learner to create and work with Java classes and objects.

This series provides an overview of the Java programming language. It prepares the experienced Java programmer for the Java 2 Programmer Certification Exam 310-035. Topics include object orientation, the statements used to control program flow and exception handling, the classes and interfaces of the java.lang package and the java.util package, the development of Java-based GUI, and the methods and tools for performing sophisticated input and output operations.
