The Spanish section of the Romance Languages Department offers courses in Spanish language, and in Hispanic literatures and cultures. In addition to focusing on developing students’ fluency in Spanish, the department provides students with a broad understanding of the cultures and literatures of the Spanish-speaking world through a curriculum designed to prepare students either for international work or for graduate study.

The On-line Master’s Program in Spanish is designed for students interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in Spanish that may not be able to do so in an on-campus environment due to jobs and/or distance (in other parts of the US or Internationally). It is particularly suited for those that have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or other language professionals.

All courses are designed for approximately 16 hours of instruction, are available for 6 months, and include a certificate of completion when finished. The courses incorporate visual imagery (photos associated with words and phrases for better retention), native speakers to hear proper pronunciation, language tips, intuitive reading exercises, and interactive assessments to measure your progress and comprehension, and cultural lessons.
