Studio situation to learn basic studio and on-location techniques, video performance training, audio broadcast techniques and to acquire mass media experience for use in professional settings or for personal advancement.

Exploration of theory and practice of basic tools of acting: body movement, vocal production, and imagination. Introduction to character analysis, scene study and improvisation.

Introduces students to the physical, emotional, and intellectual challenge of the acting process. Voice and movement work, analysis of dramatic texts from an actor’s point of view, and improvisational exercises are used to provide students with a variety of methods for acting truthfully on stage.

The Film Video Media programs are designed for students seeking professional preparation for careers in Film, Video, and related industries. Students will be prepared for employment in the television, industrial video, network, cable, and internet production, commercial production, educational video, and feature film production industries, or for entry into graduate study programs.

This course focuses on acting and directing skills which will strengthen students�abilities to communicate visually and verbally. The course will concentrate on three essential elements: pantomime, voice-over acting, and improvisational acting. An emphasis will also be made on learning how to create and enact comedy.
