This is an intensive elementary German class in which we focus on acquiring the four basic skills of a language: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The required textbook is supplemented by a workbook and allows students to practice what they have learned in class. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to conduct basic conversations and write simple paragraphs about everyday topics. This course aims to provide beginning students with a practical command of the language. Grammatical topics include pronunciation, counting, simple interrogatives, negation, personal pronouns, adjectives, the present tense and expressions of time and season.
