This 2-hour Dementia Training Course was developed in response to Act 571 enacted by the Louisiana State Legislature and signed by Governor Jindal in 2008. The act requires that all long term care facilities or assisted living facilities that provide care to people with dementia must provide yearly dementia training. The amount of training required depends on how much contact time the employee spends with the residents. For example all direct care staff must have 8 hours of training per year.
