Fundamentals to prepare for transcription career: keyboarding, grammar, style, editing, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, legal and ethical aspects of healthcare.

The Medical Insurance Billing Assistant Program has been developed for individuals who wish to work with patient records in a physician’s office or major clinic. Using the Medisoft Advanced system, the student will prepare a bill for submission to insurance companies, managed care companies, as well as other entities. Also covered are setting up appointments and processing payments.

Development of advanced coding techniques with emphasis on case studies, health records, and federal regulations regarding perspective payment systems and methods of reimbursement. Lab introduces student to hands-on experience with encoding and internet training software.
