Stepper Motor Control
Format: Online

School: Microchip Technology Inc.
Venue: Chandler
Tel.: (480) 792-7200

This webseminar is the second part in the “Stepper Motorseries. Full and half stepping algorithms are discussed. Anti-resonance is described along with cause and solution using alternate stepping modes. Drive circuits are introduced using a simple H-bridge design along with recommendations for switching mechanisms.

Sensorless BLDC motor control using a Majority Function
Format: Online

School: Microchip Technology Inc.
Venue: Chandler
Tel.: (480) 792-7200

This web seminar explains a sensorless Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor control algorithm, implemented using the dsPIC® digital signal controller (DSC). The algorithm works by the use of a majority function for digitally filtering the back-Electromotive Force (BEMF). Each phase of the motor is filtered to determine when to commutate the motor drive voltages. This control technique excludes the need for discrete, low-pass filtering hardware and off-chip comparators.

Brushed DC Motor
Format: Online

School: Microchip Technology Inc.
Venue: Chandler
Tel.: (480) 792-7200

This web seminar on brushed DC motor basics is part 1 of a four part series of web seminars that will go into motor control drive topologies, pulse width modulation ( PWM ), and the new enhanced PWM. Brushed DC Motor Basics will go from the basic parts of a brushed DC motor and how they work to how do they compare to other types of motors.
