Students will learn the basics of professional bartending and mixology in the operation of commercial institutions. This program also includes the Maine Course, a six hour seminar in the responsible service of alcohol. Participants will learn the functional level that is acceptable to the State of Maine Liquor Commission and the Department of Human Services.

Personal financial planning can help you reach your long and short term goals. This workshop will cover the importance of setting up an emergency fund, the steps to getting out of debt, how to establish and structure funds for retirement and ways to save for big purchases such as college expenses. Strategies for paying off “bad debt�and how “good debt�can work for you will also be covered. Learn how to build wealth and have fun doing it.

Students will analyze individual word parts such as prefixes, suffixes and word roots, along with learning body system dynamics, basic medical language, body orientation, health, wellness, and disease terms. Students will learn the basic components of medical terminology as it relates to each body system.

This course is designed for those who desire a health and science career that requires the ability to communicate with physicians, dentists, or other medical professionals.

Upon successful completion, students will be issued an American Heart Association CPR card.

Speaking in front of an audience is a challenging task for most professionals. In this interactive class, participants will learn how to prepare, enhance and present information with confidence. Participants will learn how to develop an effective presentation, how to include visual aids, handling Q&A sessions and a brief introduction to persuasion. Participants will put these new skills to use with speaking exercises.
