This course will build upon a general understanding of good writing and composition. Students will be introduced to internal research memoranda, points, authorities, and the Uniform System of Citation. Students will also be required to develop and demonstrate legal research skills and will become familiar with both law library research and electroinc research tools. These skills will be further added upon and utilized in Advanced Legal Research & Writing.

The ability to write clearly and directly is highly prized in organizations. This course focuses on improving business writing. The ideas, techniques, and checklists in this course apply to all forms of business writing: memos, reports, brochures, proposals, presentations, catalogs, and websites. Other topics include formal and informal outlining techniques, how to revise for wordiness, unnecessary phrases, redundancy, and jargon, and the appropriate use of email in an organizational setting.

The Financial Report Writing course covers all aspects and features of creating financial reports. You can enhance these reports by adding smart fields and logic to them.
