This program covers basic bookkeeping, computerized accounting, and beginning accounting theory. It prepares students for entry-level positions in billing, accounts payable or receivable, or bookkeeping. Upon completing this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the Accounting - Associate of Applied Science degree program.

This program is designed to provide specific preparation for private and public accounting as well as the advanced areas of general accounting. Graduates are prepared for positions in private business, public accounting, and government. The program provides an excellent foundation for the student to begin a career in cost accounting, tax accounting, or internal auditing.

The accounting program develops an understanding of accounting principles, business law, communications, business equipment and related areas of study in the field. You also will gain instruction in computerized accounting systems. Technical skills in financial accounting, cost accounting and tax preparation are emphasized.
