Mountaineering: Slide Climbing Overnight Format: On-site School: Alpine Adventures, Inc. Venue: Keene Tel.: (518) 576-9881 This course takes place in a slide climber’s paradise, miles from the nearest road. We begin instruction with an introduction to equipment and clothing for warm weather adventures; and the essentials of trip planning and navigation. After packing equipment and food, we head out for a five mile hike to our base camp for the next three nights. By backpacking almost to the foot of the mountain, we’ll gain easy access to numerous large slides. |
